Josh is an empathic and talented therapist skilled in providing individual therapy to adults, adolescents, and children. It is important to Josh that he personalize therapy to the goals and needs of his clients. Regarding expertise, Josh has gained valuable skills and comfort working with people struggling from stress, worry, and anxiety, as well as mood disorders, emotional dysregulation, anger management, and interpersonal difficulties.
The journey of becoming a psychology associate includes extensive training, and Josh has been trained in the treatment of grief, loss, and bereavement; parent education; school-based interventions; and the application of the Transtheoretical Model with the use of Stages of Change. Clinically he is heavily influenced by the CBT umbrella while integrating other modalities that are clinically appropriate. Josh is always looking for additional opportunities to grow professionally.
Josh completed his Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC. He received his BA and MS Ed in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Queens College of the City University of New York.
Before starting down the path of psychology, Josh was a passionate educator for many years. In many ways, this prepared him well for this work. Since then, he has experienced treating clients in several settings, from private practice to community mental health, from rural to urban, including all presentations of mental illness. He is focused on developing honest and collaborative relationships with his clients, integrating interventions from several approaches to help clients make rewarding and lasting changes in their lives.
